Sosyal medyaya 15 yaş sınırı getiren yasa kabul edildi
The Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly approved a comprehensive bill regulating social media and digital games. Under the new regulation, social network providers cannot offer services to children under 15. Platforms are required to establish age verification systems. Additionally, differentiated services will be provided for children aged 15 and above. Social media platforms must offer clear and understandable parental control tools, including monitoring account settings, requiring parental approval for purchases and subscriptions, and tracking and limiting usage time. Platforms must also establish mechanisms for rapid response to complaints and take measures against deceptive advertisements. Sanctions against high-traffic social network providers from Turkey include advertising bans and bandwidth throttling. Games will be rated by age criteria; unrated content will be considered for the highest age group. Game distributors with daily access exceeding 100,000 must appoint a representative in Turkey.
